STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL PARTICIPATION PROJECTS AND STRATEGIES ABOUT UNIVERSAL ACCESSIBILITY IN MADRID NUEVO NORTE

Drafting of the Universal Accessibility framework for this huge urban regeneration project in Madrid.

Drafting of the Universal Accessibility (UA) Director Framework for the Madrid Nuevo Norte Project. This large urban regeneration operation (the largest in Europe at this time) is located north of Madrid, in a 329-hectare longitudinal strip that runs from the Chamartín Train Station to the M-40 circulation road and the areas surrounding the tracks.

The assessment includes the main challenges of mobility, universal accessibility, gender integration, the elderly and childhood population in this new “city within the city”. UA Criteria and models are developed for the design of urbanization, building and mobility within the framework of a strategy that has also been supported by a participatory process.
